At Wadhurst Church we are dedicated to helping and serving the wider community.
One aspect of how we do this is through the important work of Carillon Cottage.
Located in the centre of Wadhurst High Street, Carillon Cottage has become a focus for information and support for the whole village.
The cottage was originally purchased by the Wadhurst PCC in 1999 and opened its doors two years later.
Since then it has provided a unique opportunity for us to work together to provide a service for the whole community. All services at Carillon Cottage are available to everyone and are entirely free of charge.
It houses the parish church administrative office, the office for the Social Action Project (SAP) and an information centre open six mornings and four afternoons a week.
The information centre is staffed by a ‘Welcome Team’ of trained volunteers recruited from the local churches and other members of the community. Information is available on a wide range of subjects and volunteers are always willing to help those people who come to us with a problem or query.
The Parish Church Sunday School (Sunday J-Club) meets at the cottage on a Sunday morning, as do various other church-related groups.
Carillon Cottage also offers a friendly, comfortable meeting place for other groups such as the Parish Council meetings, MP’s Surgeries and U3A groups.
Rooms can be hired for non-commercial purposes and people are always welcome to drop in just for a chat and a cup of tea.
Mon – Sat: 9:30am – 12:30pm and 2:00pm – 4:00pm
Closed Weds and Sat afternoons.
